It’s the ultimate clash, the Beast facing off against The Monster Amongst Men, Brock Lesnar vs Braun Strowman for the Universal Championship! But with poor bookings and a partially recovered Strowman, the question remains; who will win and become the Universal Champion?
The Build Up
The disliked and hated “General Manager-Elect” of Raw, Baron Corbin was an extremely unpopular figure and Braun Strowman used this to his advantage and emerged victorious in their TLC match. In a short space of time the sling-wearing Monster Among Men pinned The Lone Wolf and earned himself a Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble.
The beast incarnate; Brock Lesnar became the first ever two-time Universal Champion at WWE Crown Jewel, which took place in Saudi Arabia, in November 2018.
The Beast defeated The New Face of Destruction; Braun Strowman in what should have been a Triple Threat Match involving Roman Reigns. Roman Reigns, however, departed from the franchise and gave up the Universal Championship in October 2018 after being tragically diagnosed with leukaemia.
Ever since this devastating loss, The Abominable Strowman has been demanding a rematch, claiming that the title is rightfully his.
Strowman can be a considered a genius for what he did with Baron Corbin because it resulted in something all the fans wanted; Corbin being removed from power.
Prediction and Possible Outcomes
The fans want an upset and nothing would give them more pleasure than Braun Strowman, the Monster Among Men, beating the beast incarnate and claiming the title that he so truly deserves. However, based on how WWE management have treated Braun Strowman in the past, it doesn’t seem like this outcome is likely.
Unfortunately, for Braun Strowman, who was seemingly WWE’s next top guy at one point, it’s starting to look more and more like he will come up short yet again at The Royal Rumble. And there are multiple reasons for this, including but not limited to; Braun Strowman’s multiple injuries, Strowman’s promotional skills, WWE’s lack of trust in him, Lesnar’s reputation.
All of these factors combined lead us to believe that Strowman will indeed not be winning the match at the royal rumble, but this remains to be seen. What do you think will be the outcome? Tell us in the comments below!
